Easter 2016

Sarah was able to come home for a very quick Easter visit. It was fun but a whirlwind! We enjoyed the beautiful weather on Saturday with a hike at Paw Paw Camp.

We died Easter eggs Saturday afternoon.

We had a nice Easter dinner at our house, followed by some dessert and hunting for Easter eggs in our yard (over and over again).

The Easter bunny came overnight and the girls (especially Olivia) woke up excited to find eggs hidden around our house and baskets full of goodies that he had left behind.

Very excited about the earrings the Easter bunny brought her!

Olivia, with literally no effort, bent down and found a four leaf clover in our yard!

Spring Break 2016

Olivia had Spring Break the week leading up to Easter. We had no travel plans, which turned out to be quite nice. We all really enjoyed getting to spend extra time together, not having to rush around, and going on little adventures.

The first day of her break, we had a movie date with Leslee and Quinn to celebrate Quinn's 6th birthday. We saw Zootopia and it was good, albeit a little scarier that anticipated.

Later that afternoon, we celebrated Violet's 2nd birthday! It was a busy day. Following the birthday party, we had a belated St. Patrick's Day dinner at my parent's house although I don't seem to have any pictures of that.

Some of the fun things we did during Spring Break included going out to breakfast, flying kites at Carillon Park (although it was more fun for Olivia and I than Natalie who was scared), hiking in the woods, playing at the park, visiting Aullwood, an Easter Egg Hunt, and a trip to COSI on what turned out to literally be their busiest day of the year.

After COSI, we stopped at Tensuke Market to pick up some Japanese food and then decided to eat dinner at Dewey's on the way home.

We capped off Spring Break by celebrating Easter! Pictures to come in the next post.

Kaitlyn's Baby Shower

The weekend of March 12, we drove to Springfield for Kaitlyn's baby shower. The kids were so excited to get to see so many people they love - Aunt Patty, Uncle Rick, Sarah, Flo, and Kaitlyn!

Saturday morning, before the shower, we went to the Lincoln Museum. Olivia had recently learned about Abraham Lincoln, so I thought she might enjoy this! It's a pretty neat museum but probably more interesting for adults than kids!

Natalie needed a nap during the time of the baby shower. Olivia, however, got to attend the baby shower, and appointed herself the very important job of handing Kaitlyn presents to open. We had a nice time celebrating Kaitlyn and Baby Strauman.

On the way home from Springfield, we stopped at DePauw to see Paul. We had hoped to eat at Marvin's, but unfortunately it was closed. Nevertheless, we had nice visit with Paul and got to meet his girlfriend and see their house.

Natalie wasn't into posing for a picture as you can tell ;)
